Koinonia Coffeehouse…

Welcome to the Koinonia Coffeehouse website..

We have opened our coffeehouse to provide a community gathering place for folks to come and enjoy and get a great cup of coffee enjoy some good music and a fresh baked pastry.

You may ask …. what does Koinonia (coy-no-knee-ah) mean?  Koinonia  is a Greek word translated as … “community or fellowship”.  It represents  a gathering place where the “community” could spend time together and invest in each others lives.

My wife and I have both felt a calling to open a place such as this, to provide a place to come and relax and enjoy time with friends and neighbors and enjoy true community with others

We are involved in supporting and helping to provide a gathering place for our community in southeast Durham. When you come to visit, you will find food donation boxes where you can partner with Koinonia and give to our pantry outreach which help serves others in need.

We hope that each person that comes in our shop will feel comfortable and welcomed and be a part of our community efforts.

Our vision in opening Koinonia was to utilize local (community) businesses in support of their services to the community..  We are currently working with a great local coffee roaster and will be serving “Joe Van Gogh” coffee. located in Hillsborough, along with additional local bakers that we use for all of our pastry and desserts.

The design of the coffeehouse is set up so that you can enjoy a comfortable seating experience, from our fireplace up front, to the “end of bar” pull up counter seating and on to the back sound stage area which include a stage for our open-mic and special events (Open mic will be every Wednesday from 8- 10 pm).

Angel and I would like to thank you for stopping by our website and welcome you to our coffeehouse. We hope you will enjoy your time spent with us as we try and provide the community with great coffee, pastries and a welcoming gathering spot.

We hope to see you soon!!!

Jim and Angel Clements
